Abby Duchscherer, a 2022 Kindred HS grad, headed to College World Series with Alabama softball squad

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Abby Duchscherer, a 2022 graduate of Kindred High School, and the Alabama softball team are headed to Oklahoma City for the 2024 NCAA Division I Softball College World Series this week.

No. 14-ranked Alabama plays No. 6-ranked UCLA at 11 a.m. CT on Thursday, May 30. The game is being televised of ESPN. The Crimson Tide are 38-18 this season and will be making their 15th appearance in the College World Series. 

Duchscherer has made 46 starts for the Crimson Tide this season. The sophomore infielder is batting .257 with 35 hits and 30 RBIs. Duchscherer also has hit six home runs for Alabama this season.

Alabama qualified for the College World Series by defeating No. 3-ranked Tennessee 4-1 on Sunday, May 26 in a deciding Game 3 of the Knoxville Super Regional. Duchscherer made a pinch hit appearance in Game 2 of the Super Regional.

Duchscherer was a five-time North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NDAPSSA) Class B First-Team All-State girls basketball selection playing for Kindred High School and was voted the NDAPSSA Miss Basketball Award winner in 2022. Duchscherer finished her prep girls basketball career with 2,662 points. She helped Kindred High School to NDHSAA Class B girls basketball state championships in 2017, 2019 and 2022.

Duchscherer also played volleyball at Kindred High School.
