New York Jets re-sign 2011 Fargo Shanley graduate Connor McGovern

NEW YORK – The New York Jets have re-signed center Connor McGovern, who is a 2011 Fargo Shanley High School graduate. The Monday morning (April 24) signing of McGovern on was a move that started a big day for the franchise.

McGovern was a free agent following the 2022 season after he completed the third year of a three-year contract he had signed with the Jets in April of 2020.

McGovern has been durable for the Jets. During his time with the team, he made 48 starts and only missed two games during the 2021 season. He played every offensive snap for the Jets during the 2022 season.

The Jets also traded for MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers on Monday afternoon.

McGovern was drafted in the fifth round (144th overall) by the Denver Broncos at the 2016 NFL Draft. He played his first four years of his career with the Broncos making 36 starts with Denver from 2017-2019.

McGovern has played in 95 games in the NFL and has made 85 starts.

McGovern played his collegiate football at the University of Missouri.

As a prep football player at Shanley, McGovern helped lead the Deacons to NDHSAA Division AA football state championships in 2009 and 2010. He was a North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA) Division AA All-State selection in 2010 (offensive line) and 2009 (defensive line).

McGovern was named North Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year his senior season (2010). He totaled 89 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles his senior year and totaled 49 tackles and three sacks his junior season.
