DULUTH, Minn. – Britta Curl is celebrating another NCAA Division I women’s hockey national championship with the University of Wisconsin.
Curl, a 2018 Bismarck St. Mary’s High School graduate, helped the Badgers to a 1-0 win over Ohio State in the 2023 NCAA Division I women’s hockey national championship game played Sunday, March 19 at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn.
Curl, Wisconsin’s captain, recorded one shot on net during the title game. During the 2022-23 season Curl scored 19 goals (tied for the team lead) and added 23 assists. She was second on the team in total scoring with 42 points.
Curl is a redshirt senior for the Badgers and plans to play her final collegiate season next year.
Curl played her entire prep hockey career in North Dakota. In five seasons with the Bismarck Blizzard, Curl scored 189 goals and 116 assists. She was a part of four NDHSAA state championships with Bismarck. During her senior season as a prep, Curl won a gold medal with the Under-18 Women’s National Team at the World Championships in Russia.
Following her standout prep career, Curl joined the University of Wisconsin women’s hockey team and helped the Badgers win two NCAA Division I National Championships in 2019 and 2021.
