Bismarck High repeats as NDHSAA Girls Wrestling Team Dual State Champions

FARGO – Bismarck High won its second consecutive NDHSAA girls wrestling team dual state championship on Saturday, February 17 at the FARGODOME.

The Demons – seeded No. 2 in the West Region – edged previously undefeated top seed Minot High by a score of 40-33 in the girls team dual final.

After falling behind 15-0 after the first three matches of the dual, Bismarck High would win the next six receiving pins from Maggie Thiegles (124 pounds), Julia Araujo (130 pounds), Aubrie Overson (142 pounds), Paige Baumgartner (148 pounds), and Lexi Beckler (155 pounds).

After its run of wins, Bismarck High enjoyed a 34-15 advantage and the Demons never looked back.

Minot High defeated Bismarck High in the regular season by the same score of 40-33 on January 11 at the Magic City Campus.

With the championship dual victory the Demons finished its season 10-1. Minot High ended the season with a 9-1 dual record.
