Tom Hoge tied for second place at PGA Championship through Round 1

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Tom Hoge continues to impress on the PGA Tour this season and on Thursday the former Fargo South standout found himself one shot off the lead in a Major tournament.

Hoge fired a 4-under 66 on Thursday, May 19 during the opening round of the PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. 

Hoge is tied for second place and is one shot behind Rory Rory McIlroy (5-under). Hoge, a 2007 Fargo South graduate, opened the tournament with a birdie and was 3-under at the turn. In total, Hoge carded five birdies in the round.

It has been a big year on the PGA Tour this season for Hoge, who played in his first Masters tournament last month and recorded his first PGA Tour win in February.

Hoge tees off at 2:04 p.m. CDT on Friday, May 20 for Round 2 and will be in a group with Beau Hossler and Si Woo Kim.
