BISMARCK – Earlier this month, Britta Curl celebrated winning a NCAA Division I women’s hockey national championship – the second of her collegiate career as a member of the University of Wisconsin Badgers. On Tuesday, March 30, Curl received word that she was named to the 2021 United States Women’s National Hockey Team to compete in the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championships in Nova Scotia on May 6-16.

Curl, a 2018 graduate of Bismarck St. Mary’s Central High School, was named to the United State Women’s National Hockey Team a year ago in December of 2019, but was unable to compete in the IIHF World Championships due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Curl played her entire prep hockey career in North Dakota. In five seasons with the Bismarck Blizzard, Curl scored 189 goals and 116 assists. She was a part of four NDHSAA state championships with Bismarck.

During her senior season as a prep, Curl won a gold medal with the Under-18 Women’s National Team at the World Championships in Russia.
