VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Association Board of Directors met in person on Thursday, January 21.
The following were highlights of the meeting:
The Board of Directors’ Awards and Canvassing Committee reported voting results of electronic ballots returned by NDHSAA Member Schools for elections of new NDHSAA Board Members representing Class B Southwest and the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals representative. Andrew Jordan, Superintendent at Wilton School District, was elected as the Class B Southwest representative. Ned Clooten, Principal at Wahpeton High School, was elected as the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals representative. NDHSAA Board Members serve four-year terms. Jordan and Clooten’s terms will begin during the 2021-22 school year.
The Board of Directors approved recommendations from the Fine Arts Committee regarding protocols of postseason contests for Class A Plays, Speech, Class B Music, Class A Instrumentals, Class A Vocals/Strings and Debate. Fine Arts Postseason Contest Information will be communicated to NDHSAA Member Schools and will be posted on respective Fine Arts Activities Tournament Information Pages.
Basketball and Boys Swim/Dive postseason event formats will be finalized by the end of January.
The Board approved an update to its Guidelines and Recommendations for Sports & Activities.
Enrollment Numbers for the 2022 NDHSAA football season were approved.
