VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Board of Directors met on Friday, July 31 via conference call.

Highlights of the July 31 NDHSAA Board of Directors Meeting included:

  • The Board received reports from Staff summarizing recent North Dakota High School Coaches Association Sports Advisory meetings for each fall sport.

  • The Board reviewed a request from Center-Stanton Superintendent/AD Tracy Peterson and New Salem-Almont High School AD Jerome Slag for the Board to eliminate all regular season volleyball tournaments for the 2020 season. The Board opted to not take action on the request and continued to leave those decisions up to local school districts with guidance from local public health units. The Board did approve a volleyball regulation change to allow Class B teams competing in a District to play up to 18 matches during the regular season if they choose not to participate in any regular season tournaments.

  • The Board unanimously approved waiving fines for team photos and cutlines on the NDHSAA’s website for 2020 fall sports. Schools will be required to submit team rosters and team schedules on the NDHSAA website.

The Board will next meet virtually at 1 p.m. CDT Friday, August 7.
