Williston repeats in Class A Girls Cross Country, Eleni Lovgren wins medalist honors

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Williston Coyotes’ girls cross country team swept the awards podium on Saturday, October 23 at the 2021 NDHSAA Class A girls cross country state meet at Parkhurst Recreation Area in Jamestown.

Williston won its second straight Class A girls cross country team state championship and were led by individual medalist – senior Eleni Lovgren. The Coyotes scored a 68 as a team.

Lovgren raced to a time of 18:27.02. Three Coyotes joined Lovgren in the Top 20 – Sierra Watterud (12th, 19:47.64), Dru Zander (13th, 19:48.16) and Marenn Larsen (18th, 19:52.13).

Grand Forks Red River finished runner up with a team score of 115.
