FARGO – Bismarck High secured its fifth consecutive NDHSAA Class A boys wrestling team dual state championship on Saturday, February 17 at the FARGODOME.

The Demons defeated West Fargo Sheyenne 39-18 in the state championship match.

Bismarck High scored three pins in the dual against the Mustangs. Ben DeForest (127 pounds), Braeden Halverson (133 pounds) and Ayden Schlafman (285 pounds) each picked up pins for the Demons.

Bismarck High picked up five wins in the first six matches of the dual giving the squad a 21-6 lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

West Fargo Sheyenne was competing in the Class A team dual final for the first time in program history. The Mustangs picked up an early 6-3 lead in the dual when Chase Clemenson scored a pin in the 121-pound match.

The team dual state championship is the Demons’ 20th in program history. Bismarck High finished the season 20-1. West Fargo Sheyenne finished the season 20-5.
