Minot High three peats as NDHSAA Girls Soccer State Champs

FARGO – Minot High’s girls soccer team has now gone 51 matches without taking a loss.

The squad’s latest victory was a 4-1 win over Fargo Davies in the state championship match of the 2023 NDHSAA Girls Soccer State Tournament on Saturday, June at Fargo Davies High School.

During this span of 51 matches without a loss Minot High has gone 50-0-1 (16-0-0 in 2021, 17-0-0 in 2022 and 17-0-1 in 2023) and now has the distinction of being one of only two program’s in state history to have ever three-peated as state champions joining Bismarck Century who won three-straight titles from 2001-2003.

Minot High is now in the midst of a full-fledged dynasty with the three-peat and unbeaten streak. The last time Minot High lost a girl soccer match was to Fargo Shanley in the 2019 NDHSAA girls soccer state championship match. 

Leading the way for the Magi was junior forward Maicee Burke who scored a hat trick in the title game scoring goals in the seventh, 47th and 73rd minutes of play.

Burke also had a hat trick in the 2022 state title match.

Minot High’s other goal came courtesy of Emerson Perrin in the 17th minute of play. Leighton Roberson scored Davies’ lone goal. Minot High out shot the Eagles 12-8 in the title match.
