Minot High repeats as NDHSAA Girls Soccer State Champs

MANDAN, N.D. – Minot High’s girls soccer program is in the midst of a lengthy win streak and after capturing its second consecutive NDHSAA state championship the Magi are a budding dynasty.

Minot High defeated Fargo Shanley 6-0 in the championship match of the 2022 NDHSAA Girls Soccer State Tournament played Saturday, June 4 at Starion Sports Complex in Mandan.

The victory is Minot’s 33rd in a row – a streak that started in 2021. The last time Minot High lost a girl soccer match was to Fargo Shanley in the 2019 NDHSAA girls soccer state championship match. The Magi were 16-0-0 in 2021 and ended the 2022 campaign with a 17-0-0 record.

Leading the way for the Magi in the title match was sophomore forward Maicee Burke who scored three goals for Minot.

Senior midfielder MaLiah Burke added two goals and eighth grade forward Jasmyn Mitchner also scored a goal in the title match. Sophomore midfielder Emerson Perrin assisted on three of Minot’s goals.

Shanley’s senior keeper Paige McAllister posted 10 saves in the match. The Deacons finish the 2022 season 10-6-2.
