TOWER CITY, N.D. -- Maple Valley High School has retired the jersey No. 34 for its girls basketball program to honor senior Rylee Nudell, who recently ended a prolific prep career scoring 3,458 points and grabbing 1,761 rebounds -- both unofficial Class B and state records in North Dakota.
The school made the honor official at it annual awards night earlier this month.
Nudell earned Region 1 and Class B Senior Athlete of the Year honors and was the runner up for the state’s Miss Basketball Award.
Nudell, a North Dakota State signee, became the state’s all-time leading scorer January 23 when she eclipsed Tanya Fischer of Bowman who had scored 3,148 points.
